Draft King's Regulation relating to the control of the

traffic in opium between the Persian Gulf and the

Far East.

In exercise of the power conferred by section 55 of

the Persian Coast and Islands Order in Council, 1907 His Majesty's Consul-General is pleased to make the following

regulation for the control of the traffic in opium between

the Persian Gulf and the Far East:-

1. His Majesty's Consular officers in the Persian Gulf

shall, before granting olearance to a British ship sailing

from the Persian Gulf with any opius on board, require the

Haster of the ship

2.

(1) to make an affidavit stating the real destination

of the opium;

(2) in the case of expor te to countries that have

adopted the importation certificate system recomended

by the League of Nations or entered into a similar

agreement with His Hajesty's Goverment, to produce

a certificate of the Government of the country of

destimtion authorising the import of the opium; pwi (3) to enter into a bond for the delivery of the opium

at that destination,

This Regulation may be cited as the "Opium Traffic

Regulation, 1923",
